TyRE SaFETY CHECKS
THEY’RE THE SOLE POINT OF CONTACT BETWEEN YOUR CAR AND THE ROAD SURFACE
Follow this 3 point check to make sure your tyres safe.
Visual Check
This is one of most important checks. Look at your tyres to see if you can see cracks or tear. A cut in excess of 25mm or 10% of the section width of the tyre , whichever is the greater, measured in any direction on the outside of the tyre and deep enough to reach the ply or cord would deem the tyre illegal. If you have bumped a kerb check to see if your tyre is not bulging this is very dangerous to drive on a tyre that has any defects needs to be changed at once
Tyre Pressure Check
Air pressure leaks out Just like your car’s oil and water, you should check your tyres on a regular basis, at least once a week. If you would like to know your recommended tyre pressure please feel free to email us info@mobiletyreshop.com. You need to check if the pressures are right, that there are no obvious signs of damage to the sidewalls or tread and that the valves and valve caps are in good condition. If drive on under inflated tyres you run a high risk of tyre coming off the wheel.
Tread depthCheck
Sufficient tread depth - Never use worn out tyres- worn out tyres lead to hydroplaning and skidding. Did you know that you are not insured when driving on illegal tyres? Worn tyres significantly impede the performance of your car. Do not forget that a worn tyre reduces the effectiveness of braking, steering, and acceleration, even fuel economy is affected. Tyre Law sates that tyres must have at least 1.6mm of tread.
What are a few minutes put aside now to check your tyres, when you compare it to your own safety..
