Alfa Romeo is one of the most underrated performance car makers around. The Alfa epitomizes the Italian spirit: temperamental, good looking and fast. We have had a look at what tyres Alfa Romeo give you, and have made some alternative suggestions on replacements (www.alfaromeo.com).

Changing Alfa Romeo Tyres
Changing the Alfa Romeo Car Tyres should require 3 primary choices:
* The overall quality of the tyre (durability, wear, ratings, cost) desired for the Alfa Romeo
* The speed rating that the Alfa Romeo Tyres should have depending upon the driver's average and occasional "fastest-driven" speed
* Deciding if local and/or regional weather patterns merit keeping two sets of tyres for dry vs. wet road conditions
Further, if an owner wishes to put tyres on different sized wheels for the Alfa Romeo, a careful decision about what size tyres will be valid for that Alfa Romeo is required. If, for example, a larger wheel size is desired, then the profile (height) and/or the width must be reduced to avoid damaging the drive train. A 195/65/15 tyre for that Alfa Romeo, for instance, on a 17" rim, could legitimately become a 165/65 (narrower) or a 195/55 (shorter) but could not stay a 195/65 as before.

Alfa Romeo GT Coupe – 255/45 R17 Y Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 Alfa Romeo GT Coupe The Alfa Romeo GT Coupe is built to perform. The cars major competitor in terms of market share is the BMW 3 series coupe. We road tested both these cars and the BMW 3 series coupe is by far the more powerful off the mark however its top end speed it quite close. The tyre of choice for this car is a 225/45 R17 Z Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3. We love the tyre, and have previously crowned it as the official pioneer of true directional tyre technology. Our alternatives for this tyre are varying. For a direct replacement with a little bit more life we would recommend the Toyo Proxes T1-R. If you are looking for the same sort of wear for a little bit less cash, try the Avon ZZ3. And if you are looking to save some money choose the Falken ZE512.

Alfa Romeo 147 – 205/55 R16 W Pirelli P6000 Alfa Romeo 147 The Alfa Romeo 147 is the best performing Alfa yet; alas we feel it may be a little overpriced. The 205/55 R16 W Pirelli P6000 its Italian equal is a perfect match for this competitive day-to-day sports car. Other tyre options for the Alfa Romeo 147 include 215/45 R17 Y and 195/60 R15 V. We have road tested this car and are extremely impressed with the corner handling, which we attribute not just to its sports suspension but also its choice of tyre. The Pirelli stands up to the test well. The hot tip with this car would be to move over to directional tyres, a favored option of ours for the Alfa Romeo 147 would be the Toyo Proxes T1-R (Replacement of the T1-S) or for the price conscious amongst us the Falken ZE512.
